If you’re diving into Forza Horizon 6, you already know that the game looks absolutely stunning across its different seasons. But waiting an entire week for the real-time calendar rotation just to see the map covered in snow or drenched in autumn rain can be a bit frustrating.
While the developers don't give you a magical button to instantly change the weather on the main live map, there is an easy, built-in way to bypass this restriction completely. By using EventLab, you can jump into any season you want, whenever you want. Here is exactly how to unlock it and set it up.
How to Unlock and Find EventLab
The good news is that you don’t need to grind for hours or reach a high level to get your hands on EventLab. It unlocks almost immediately after you finish the introductory prologue at the very beginning of the game.
Once you are past that intro sequence, EventLab is permanently open for business. You can access it at any point during your playthrough by pausing the game, navigating over to the Creative Hub tab in the main menu, and selecting EventLab.
Step-by-Step: Changing the Season for Your Drive
Because you can't change the season for standard freeroam, the trick is to create a custom blueprint race where you dictate the rules of nature. Here is how to do it:
  • Open the EventLab Menu: Pause the game, head over to the Creative Hub tab, and click into EventLab.
  • Create an Event: Select the option to Create an Event. From here, you can either choose a custom route you’ve already built or start setting up a brand-new blueprint layout.
  • Open Event Settings: Instead of messing with the basic blueprint rules, look at the top menu and select Event Settings.
  • Tweak the Environment: Scroll down through the settings until you find the environmental options. Here, you can manually toggle the Season to Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter. You can also adjust the exact weather conditions and even lock the time progression to "Fixed" so the sun doesn't move or set mid-drive.
  • Launch and Drive: Save your new setup, run through the standard blueprint validation, pick your car, and launch the event.

The Ultimate Freeroam Workaround
The steps above are great if you want to race, but what if you just want to cruise around the open world, take photos, or test out a new drift build under a specific sky?
If you want to treat this EventLab event like a private freeroam session, go back into the Event Settings and completely turn off the AI Drivatars. When you are placing your finish line, put it somewhere far away on the other side of the map. As long as you avoid driving through that finish line, you are free to explore the entire open world under your chosen season for as long as you like.
Just keep in mind that this custom season only exists while you are actively inside this specific EventLab session. The moment you quit out and head back to the main game, the map will seamlessly revert back to whatever global live season is currently active for the rest of the community. It’s a temporary escape, but it’s the perfect tool for photographers and drivers who don't want to wait a week for the weather to change.
