Job Description – Test Analyst
Our client provides specialist investment banking and financial services in selected markets around the world. The bank’s Equity Markets Group (EMG) comprises the Bank's principal equity trading, market-making, product origination, structuring, equity based managed funds, hedge funds, warrants and derivatives sales and distribution activities. The Group has offices in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, South Africa, Europe and Brazil.
Our client is now seeking an enthusiastic analyst programmer to join the EMG Asia technology team. This is an outstanding opportunity to be involved in a number of new projects and gain unique exposure to Investment Banking.
Key Responsibilities:
l       Analyse business requirements and assist in ensuring business requirement documentation is complete and testable.
l       Assist in the formulation of test strategies.
l       Plan testing requirements, develop test cases and perform test execution.
l       Plan and execute testing of system fixes.
l       Coordinate test environment and test data setup.
l       Automate regression test cases.
l       Recognise issues and escalate as appropriate.
l       Support releases to production on the weekend of implementation.
l       Provide assistance, as required, with preparation of release notes.
l       Provide post implementation support to Business as required.
Requirements:
l       Have relevant testing experience, preferably within a Financial Services company.
l       Possess knowledge of testing methodologies, any exposure to or experience with agile testing would be well regarded.
l       Have experience in using and configuring test management and defect tracking tools.
l       Have experience of System Development Lifecycles, preferably in both waterfall and agile environments.
l       Have experience with testing automation.
l       Have programming and relational database skills.
l       Demonstrate an analytical approach.
l       Possess intermediate PC skills (Word Excel) and intermediate SQL skills.
l       Demonstrate initiative.
l       Possess problem solving ability.
l       Have strong time management skills.
l       Possess strong written/verbal communication skills.
l       Work effectively within a team.
The following skills would be an advantage:
l       Business knowledge of the Equity Trading front to back process.
l       Experience with software configuration management, change request management or release management tools and the underlying processes.
l       Experience with Performance Testing.
l       Business Analysis experience.
l       Experience with scripting languages, Unix, SQL, HTML and XML
l       J2EE skills.
High calibers will be sent to work in Hong Kong for 6 – 12 months before working back in China.
